For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1 · World English Bible
When the Rhythm Changes
Some mornings reveal that an old rhythm no longer fits. A child needs less help. A parent needs more. A move, a diagnosis, or a changed schedule rearranges what once felt familiar. Even a welcome change can leave you unsure how to live within it. Ecclesiastes names life as a succession of seasons, with different times calling for different activities and responses. This is not an instruction to call every change pleasant. It is an invitation to recognize that one rhythm cannot serve every part of life. Take a moment this morning to name something that has changed. Then ask what adjustment it requires, rather than insisting that everything continue as before. You might simplify a commitment, allow longer for a routine, or explain a new limit to someone who depends on you. Honoring this season does not erase the one before it. You can value what was and still make practical room for what is now.
Morning Prayer
Father, I find it difficult to release routines that once helped me feel settled. Help me recognize what has changed without rushing to judge it. Give me patience as I adjust, and honesty about my limits. I want to meet this season thoughtfully, without demanding that it look like the last one. Amen.
Evening Prayer
Father, this day has held moments I could not prolong and others I could not hurry. You remain worthy of worship through them all. Forgive me for measuring the day only by what I accomplished. Receive my unfinished work, and give me rest for tonight. Teach me to leave tomorrow in your hands. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
