He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

Luke 16:10 · World English Bible

The Small Honest Choice

An expense claim, a time sheet, or a promise made in passing can seem too small to deserve much attention. Yet these are places where integrity becomes visible. Jesus connects faithfulness in little things with faithfulness in larger things. In this passage about handling wealth, He refuses to treat small acts of dishonesty as meaningless. What we do with something modest still matters. You may face a choice this morning that no one else will notice. There may be an error that benefits you, a detail you could conveniently leave out, or a task you said you would finish. Instead of asking whether anyone will check, ask what an honest response requires. Correct the amount. Include the missing detail. Keep the promise, or explain plainly why you cannot. Faithfulness does not need an audience. It takes shape when your actions match what is true, even in the ordinary matters you could easily dismiss.

Morning Prayer

God, help me be honest in the details I am tempted to dismiss. I want my private choices to match my public words. Give me courage to correct what is wrong, even when it costs me convenience or approval. Show me the small responsibility that needs my faithful attention. Amen.

Evening Prayer

Father, as this day ends, I remember that even modest responsibilities matter to you. You are faithful without exception. Forgive the excuses I made for careless or misleading actions. Where I have wronged someone, prepare me to make amends. Let me rest in your mercy rather than defend myself, and lead me into truth tomorrow. Through Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
