“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28 · World English Bible
Bring the Weight
Some mornings begin with tiredness that sleep has not relieved. A difficult conversation, a demanding week, or the effort of appearing fine can leave you carrying more than anyone sees. Jesus invites the burdened to come to him. He does not tell them to become less tired before approaching. Their weariness is not a reason to stay away. It is named within the invitation itself. Coming to Jesus this morning can begin with an honest sentence: “This is heavy, and I need your help.” You do not need to make the sentence sound more faithful than you feel. Then consider one practical way to stop pretending your strength is endless. Take your lunch break. Ask someone to share a task. Leave a nonessential chore unfinished. These choices do not replace prayer, but they can accompany an honest admission of your limits. Bring the weight rather than hiding it.
Morning Prayer
Jesus, I am tired in ways I do not always explain. I bring you the work, worry, and pressure I have been carrying. Teach me to receive your invitation without first proving myself useful. Help me acknowledge my limits and accept appropriate help instead of hiding my need. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Evening Prayer
Father, as this day closes, thank you for the rest your Son offers, grounded in his gentleness rather than my performance. Forgive the impatience I passed on to others today. Help me forgive those whose demands felt unkind. I entrust unfinished responsibilities to your care. Let tonight be a time of receiving your mercy, and guide me into faithful obedience tomorrow. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
